Latest recon from our resident Po-2 showing known German positions.

Tell us what you think McEwan's possible plans!

Little does the fascist invaders know they are in the sights of the valiant heroes of the motherland !

What is that deep noise in the background ....

- Tovaritch Colonel, we are receiving reports of truck and armor
noise coming from the direction of last reported contact with the
enemy !

- I see Corporal. Raise the HQ , we have probably found the enemy
spearhead. And one more thing connect me to the artillery CO.

- Da,Tovaritch Colonel.

Woken from their beds, the men of the Mixed Infantry Regiment spring to
action. Ozgurnikov can be see shouting orders to his battalion
commanders. The men ready their SMGs and other assorted machines of
death and destruction and rush to their assigned locations.

The Russians are now fully awake.

Suddenly in the background the rumble of machinery is heard. It sounds
just like a machine made in Detroit. Straight from a crate from a ship
in a PQ convoy, these are the new Shermans of the attached armored
brigade.

Ozgurnikov also learns that the crack units of the breakhru armor
brigade is also assigned to his forces and will be with him before the
end of the day.

Death of a Recon Unit

The firelight in the woods has come to an end with most of the Soviet recon unit wiped out. Some Ivans were seen running off into the woods. After the intense firing there the front has gone quiet.

Luckily the skies are overcast so the threat from the Russian Jabos is very low. Still the advancing grenadiers can's stop looking up into the sky out of habit.

So far there has been no contact with the Soviet MLR. Recon patrols continue to probe the probable Soviet lines to locate and ID positions.

Message Ends.

Here are some pictures of the battleground... It is huge I tell u.

Patrols clash...

Germans push the Soviets back...

To be continued...

Of White clouds on the plains of Poland

The man hunt in the forest continues as George says. But who is to say
what is going on at the other parts of the map. But I am not really
expecting to see armor in action unless both sides decide to make a
run for other sides's base.

I suspect that what I ran into was the spearhead of a larger force. I
do not believe that George will penny packet his forces on such a
large map only to be lost in the maelstrom of the battle or be taken
away by the white clouds. But I believe u can even lose a regiment on
this map and still have no idea what has take them.

Now where the hell is my airforce ...

Hmmm...

McEwan's tanks are hiding... But they can not escape from the sharp
eyes of my patrols. Bingo !

Still no sign of Von McEwan's panzers. The skirmish in the forest quickly ebb as the Russians disperse in the forest. I hope I had a spotter plane. I am utterly blind.

11 September....Prelude to Operation Little Mercury

Today we have started this huge operation ! General Ozgurnikov's battered brigade and some Romanian units are sent to rest in this quiet part of the sector. But who can say what will the next few days will bring.

Sov. Artillery fires off some harassment volleys in the start. Loosing rapidly some 300 ! rounds of light and heavy mortar rounds into possible concentration areas in the German front. Relatively accurate then expected these rounds demolish some house that populate the river.

First Blood...

In the third turn, despite the huge map, patrols find each other. The forested boundary area to the north of the river is a scene to a skirmish between recce platoons. Apprently Von Georg is also trying to find a protected way into my lines as well. Germans get the upper hand thanks to their automatics.

The Dubno 1944 ....

Ozgurnikov and Von McEwan meet ...again

Our Dubno operation will begin in a few days of time. It is my second game with George and I am really looking forward to the big hurt coming in the form of big cats.

I have reconn'ed the ground and it appears that there 3 possible routes of approach to the central Village held by the Russians ( and that is me ). If the last battle was any indicator my arch enemy is going to use all of these approaches.

However I have realized that I made a BIG mistake in my force selection. I hope I find enough resources to make up for that loss.

As the battle begins, two battalions of Soviet infantry along with some guns and and the remains of a Romanian Division sleepily stir in their beds.

Little do they know about the approaching menace...
